Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since that period of that year.
The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent saved 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
